Labor day weekend

Labor day weekend is upon us! This is the last weekend to race this month.

Saturday agenda-race?

Believe it or not, I had to travel to make that a yes. Check it out:

You can automatically rule out the former (out of FL/USA). Today began cooler than usual (upper 70s) but was a bit windy and still humid. I went in as defending master champion. Now, check this out clint eastwood style:

The good: top ten and podium
The bad: generic medal, 1 tight turnaround
The ugly: no master title (if top 3, I would get master again, otherwise the 3 oa would)

Monday agenda-race?

Happy labor day! To labor (race) or not to labor (rest), that is the question. Fortunately, I got to race.

It was hot and humid, especially since it began 8'ish. It was a cross country race also, 2 vices against me. Let's sum it up clint style:

The good: podium
The bad: generic medal, weather, course (including many puddles), not in top ten, 3 ag
The ugly: bad sole affected my good soul

You got that right, the left shoe lost parts during race, slowing me down further.

Andrew anniversary weekend, yes, the hurricane is here, officially on sunday.

Saturday agenda-race?

Here's what I could muster for this day:

1. Spartan race VA
2. biggest loser off road VA
3. seattle marathon
4. ft Desoto du/tri
5. rampage 5k
6. lions run 5k
7. down2earth 5/10/half
8. runway 5k

You can automatically rule out the first 3 (out of FL). I planned on a double header (the latter was a night race) but it got cancelled. I passed on all but #5 because it was the last of the elite series and where the series award would be given.

I am gonna sum this up clint eastwood style:

The good: made the podium
The bad: course was longer, affecting my time, travel to race
The ugly: was 2nd in age but given 3rd due to double dipping by master, course, humidity

22 years ago, the hurricane that changed FL forever! The racing drought was so bad, I found 1 event:

1. down2earth 5/10 trail runs

That means only training and I didn't really do that. I decided to do something rare, rest.

Last weekend before school starts!

Last weekend before school starts! Pre season football already started. Unfortunately, the racing drought is still on.

Saturday agenda-race?

Here's what I found for this day:

1. Spartan race CD
2. fast cat 5k
3. MCC champions club 5k
4. ING kick off 5k

You can automatically rule out the former (out of US). I originally planned on the latter but its only a fun run and I felt like competing, plus anyway, been there, done that. Of the remaining, #2 seemed closer, at least to a friend I know.

This was actually a cross country race that drew a lot on kids (teenagers). Let me sum it up clint style:

The good: placed in age group
The bad: hot, humid, wet field, travel to race
The ugly: didn't even make top 50, time (due to the bad), somebody beat me, medal

You can automatically rule out the former (out of US). Due to expenses, I passed on the latter, meaning I didn't race. I did an easy, short run to allow room for house work.

Full moon weekend

Full moon weekend is upon us! However, what is good is the start of football! Albeit preseason, it kicks off my other favorite team sport. Unfortunately, still a racing drought with plenty of rain throughout the week.

First weekend of August

First weekend of August is upon us. And yes, the racing drought continues while the rain has not.

Saturday agenda-race?

Here's what I found for the first Saturday:

You can automatically rule out the first 2 (out of FL). I passed on #4 (cycling). The latter was closest in proximity, so it was chosen. Let me break it down clint eastwood style:

The good: top ten and age group
The bad: weather (humid and rain), time
The ugly: the entry fee, personally, I hate the location

I got caught in the rain before and during the run. The bridge was slippery along with painted parts of streets, affecting me time. What was good was pancake breakfast available.
